Philosophy can't be just another subject to teach or to learn, it's way much more than just that!
Now, why philosophy? Why do I need to learn anything at all about philosophy if just like this am doing good?
Well, for sure there's no right answer but am getting a clue... this will actually be helpful!
Since class #1 I realized that I've lived for around 17 years with questions with no answers! Like... why em I here? Is there actually a real purpose for living? Why are we human beings different but at the same time so alike?!! JUST TOO MANY QUESTIONS THAT BRING BACK MORE QUESTIONS!
So... Since scientists, the pope, my teachers, mom and dad haven't come with an answer yet; we have a little something that may come with tons of possible answers and more deep questions with wake up calls… I better named it as philosophy!
Now, philosophy studies way too much and beyond! And either I like it or not, I live with it because I’m human! I can't go walking around my whole life pretending that nothing is going on in my mind because it actually is!
Philosophy makes me human, makes me realize that a body is just a simple wrap if we don't question anything at all ( if we live without philosophy) questions only makes us smarter and build us up as humans, and philosophy is based on questioning everything!
To make this short... Philosophy isn’t just a bunch of questions and weird-real statements, philosophy makes us think, makes us real and be actually living humans, it makes us keep our feet in the ground and value all that surrounds us and most important of all to LIVE in a real life.

liked the last line ( to LIVE in a real life) most of us go with blindfolds all of our lifes and even when those blindfolds "avoid" (because you can never escape them) the things we cannot explain and we even fear, we also lose great things in life if we just follow what other people say like sheeps
ReplyDeleteA life without questioning has no real diference to a life lived by a robot, as we could say that both are programmed to do something.
Gaby, I agree with your thoughts about philosophy, and that there are many questions we have that aren’t answered yet. Also, I completely agree on the question “why I’m here?” Everybody had asked themselves once that, and many others. I think you are right in the part where you said, philosophy bring us answers and more questions. Indeed, in our mind, there is always a constant questioning, and we need to answer them someday.
ReplyDeleteGaby, after reading your post on why philosophy, I realized many people besides me have the same unsolved questions. For example, why am I here? and others more, so I do agree philosophy is a real subject and its important because it teaches us the most complicated subject, that is ourselves.
ReplyDeleteFinally, the closing line "..to LIVE a real life" I also agree, philosophy isn't just questions is the wisdom we must learn in order to reflect on our daily life and as a consequence be better.
Well gaby, I am not sure, but I think I have lived my life without asking me many questions; should I have to answer them? well for sure I can "try" but it won't be as meaningful as I would wanted it to be. As you said gaby, philosopsy has opened many doors I've been closing over the past few years, beginning with why I am here? etc. I hope this course will help us in our way to achieve what we're looking for, or at least be of use as a guide.
ReplyDeleteBut for sure, I prefer asking myself those kind of questions instead of just living my life without any of them, thanks for the reflection gaby!
