After reading this chapter of the book I became more interesting of things that happen in my life, I started to question myself of things that I know that exist but I want to know more about them. But these questions that Savater put in the book like for example “how we know the things we know?” “ How did we obtain it?”,l think I get most of the things I know from experience, but how can I know that I’m not wrong with what I see, because most of the times I just believe what I see but I don’t go any deeper in investigation and sometimes there can be illusions, ”How can you improve it?” well that’s a very hard question to ask because how can I know the best source of information or how can I now if I am right with what I see or experience, I think life just consist of constant questioning just like as Savater says.
But besides all we should always try to find the truth no matter what and for that we have to use reason. “ the truth and reason share the same claim to universality” that means that to have a better and more real believe in truth the truth have to be universal that means not just your truth, it has to be the truth for many people too.

I agree with ile in the part she says that its really difficult to improve what you already know. Like i agree in the part you say that is better to experience things and in that way knowing things. But, would you sacrifice all your life on prooving truths? and focusing all your goals on questioning what we basically "know", just to say: yeaH; it wasn't true/ yeah it is true or It depends. Well i don't know if we can trust life to give us enough time for that, so i think we should question some but not ever everything we believe.
ReplyDeleteI think you are right Illeana; we should start questioning ourselves the things that we always have thought about as truths. With the advantages and improvements of technology and scientific research all the things that people thought were truths in the past are changing and proven wrong, so how could we assure that the truths of today aren’t wrong. Keep the good work Illeana.
ReplyDeleteIleana what you say it helps to understand better the truth in life. No matter what we need to use reason to suppor the truth that we believe so we can understand things better. You need to invesitgate the truths, to have more reasons and evidence that supports it. This will give us more confidence of our truths. I really like your Savater quote... It is quite interesting to know the answer for that question!!
ReplyDeleteSo we are always going to live in a lie? are we going to die without knowing the truth of the things? what can we do to stop all this questioning and start answering questions so we can know were are we at or what is every things of. Savater's quote make us think but it does not lead of to a conclucion. So from were can we start?
